Echo Valley Endurance Relay

SINGLE RACE FORMAT RETURNS!

For 2021, we are returning Echo Valley to its traditional format, with a 1 mile kid’s race, 10K, half-marathon and 50K. Echo Valley remains an excellent race choice for many. The 1 mile kid’s race, camping and location make it ideal for families, while the 50k is a great course for a first time 50K runner or someone wanting to set a 50K PR time.

Based in the pristine wine country of Lake Chelan, Echo Valley offers stunning views, runnable (is that even a word?) single tracks, heaps of sunshine and a retreat from everyday life!

To top off this weekend away in the mountains, you can camp pre- and post-race. Take this time to reboot, decompress from technology and reflect on the amazing training you have done. Socially distant bonfires and laughter will be plentiful! Come and share an amazing weekend with us; we promise you will head back to work Monday full of heart and strength of mind! See below for details on accommodations.

This race is sponsored by Vin du Lac of Chelan, one of the top Wineries in the region, named “Winery of the Year” in 2010.

A special thanks to Company Creek Pizza for supporting the Echo Valley races. They’ll be providing pizza to keep you going all day long!

Woodland Speeders Kid’s Race

As part of our new Woodland Speeders program, we offer free kid’s races at all of our events. Parents are welcome to run with their kids. You can register your child during the registration process for your own race or sign them up later. The Echo Valley kid’s race is the longest that we have at 1 mile in length and is half dirt road, half grassy trail, with a small amount of elevation gain. See schedule below for start time.

Race Notes:

We mark the course as best as possible and there will be a course marshal out at a strategic location to help keep you on track. However, there are a few complex intersections on this, so please pay attention to course markers and signage.

The trails will be open to other users during the event, including pedestrians and cyclists.See our FAQ page for more information about sharing the trails

This is a cupless race.

All runners should carry with them a refillable container that they can run with. There will be a limited number of cups for emergency situations. Runners are strongly encouraged to carry a minimum of 20oz of water. Echo Valley can be hot this time of year. The race HQ area will have a well-stocked aid station for runners.

Lodging

If you’d like to stay at the race start/finish area (which we highly recommend!), you have two options. You can opt to camp or you can stay in one of the cabins at Chelan Rentals Resort.

Camping & Food

Camping at Echo Valley is a great way to extend out your weekend fun and catch up with old friends and make new ones! There is a generously sized camping area available for anyone, whether you’re a relay participant or not.

The camping area is owned and managed by the Echo Valley Ski Area. The cost to camp is $15 per tent or RV, per night, and is collected directly when you arrive (can pay with cash, check or credit card). No individual fires are allowed but there are several fire pits for general use. Containers are provided for garbage and recycling.

We are also lucky enough to have Terri Flick to prepare delicious meals! She serves up fresh, homemade food and has a kid’s menu as well. See here for a sample menu. They will have Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast available.

Chelan Rentals Resort

Chelan Rentals has a host of quiet and cozy cabins for rent at Echo Valley! If you’re looking for a nice place to stay for your trip to Echo Valley, look no further. They have 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio cabins available to rent. We recommend reserving early! For more information and to make a reservation, go here.
